  Aquatic Therapy

Aquatic Therapy or Hydrotherapy utilizes the principle of buoyancy to support the weight of the patient and provides the ability of the perform low impact exercise. The warm water increases range of motion and decreases pain and swelling. The pulsating massage hose decreases tissue adhesions and alleviates pain. The underwater treadmill helps to increase strength and cardiovascular performance. Movement in the water, various aquatic “weights,” and resistance jets help to increase sports specific strength and activity tolerance. Finally, Bromine is used to disinfect the water to allow participation without irritation.
