Fibromyalgia Treatment for Chronic Pain
Fibromyalgia is a myofascial pain syndrome in which a person has long-term, body-wide pain and tenderness in the joints, muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues. Fibromyalgia has also been linked to fatigue, sleep problems, headaches, depression, and anxiety. Here at Vital Energy, we have specialized experience in treating the symptoms of fibromyalgia by blending energy medicine, complementary therapy, and aquatic therapy with traditional physical and occupational therapy interventions. We work with patients to understand that fibromyalgia is not just a disease, but a lifestyle. We empower our patients with community support and knowledge about the disease so that they may take charge of living their lives with fibromyalgia.
Bariatric Therapy for Weight Loss
Our unique approach includes our state-of-the-art facility equipped and designed for the exercise needs of bariatric patients. After an initial consultation by a licensed doctor specializing in metabolic disorders, our patients receive an individualized plan of care and prescription. Our staff can also offer nutritional guidance and refer you to valuable resources when beginning your new diet and healthy lifestyle. Furthermore, metabolic testing reports are used to determine your ideal exercise zone so that your exercise is at an intensity level that maximizes fat burning potential.
Lymphedema is an accumulation of protein rich fluid in the interstitium of the skin caused by insufficiency in the lymph vessel system. Lymphedema can occur at anytime. Some babies are born with this condition if they do not have a sufficient lymph system (primary lymphedema). Some adults may develop lymphedema after cancer surgery and / or radiation or trauma (secondary lymphedema). We have on staff occupational therapists who are lymphdema certified, meaning they have been specifically trained on how to manage and treat lymphedema.
Treatment for Nerve Pain
Nerve pain can stem from many different issues. For some, nerve pain comes after a surgical procedure or post-radiation/chemo. For others, it may present as RSD Syndrome or Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome (also know as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome). It may also present along with fibromyalgia or after an injury. No matter the cause, at Vital Energy, we can help alleviate the pain through a combination of alternative and traditional methods. Some of the treatments that we offer for nerve pain include craniosacral therapy, muscle energy treatment, aquatic therapy with underwater treadmill, traditional manual therapy and exercises.
We offer a prescribed exercise regimen for anyone that is battling cancer or is a cancer survivor. Research has shown that physical therapy for cancer has helped to address symptoms, reduce pain, and side effects from the treatment. Patients with cancer and cancer survivors that exercise have shown an improvement in their quality of life, aerobic capacity, muscular strength, physical conditioning, fatigue, and physiology.
